Low flow anesthesia
18.07.2005 at 15:04:53

I just got back from the annual meeting in Bristol, UK of the  Association for Low Flow Anaesthesia (ALFA).  It was a very stimulating meeting with a wide array of topics covered, prompting me to open this sub-section on low flow anesthesia.  Please post questions you may have on low flow anesthesia and we will take a shot at them.  Thanks.

Dear Anusha:

Your request is too broad to address meaningfully on a bulletin board.  Please perform a search on low flow anesthesia on the web to see for yourself what is relevant to your individual needs and local conditions.   Good luck.

Greetings.

My question is the following about a circular respiratory sistem:
If you put the input of fresh gases in the minimum (0,1L/min)and if you squezze the reservoir bag and the patient is on spontaneus ventilation, from where will come from the next inpiratory volume of gases? (please consider that APL valve is full open when you squeeze the bag).

Will it happen negative pressure in the system??

I thank you for your attention.
