Sticking Together with some Major League Legends!

Hall of Fame, MLB catcher, Johnny Bench snagging jars of Peanut Butter in front of the backstop?!?

NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback, Broadway Joe Namath calling an audible with a loaf of WonderBread tucked in his arms?!?

No, you’re not hallucinating! These 2 iconic legends teamed up to help victims of Hurricane Ian who have been devastated by damage to their homes and in many cases have also lost their jobs.

Echo Fine Properties, a real estate firm based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, started making Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches for their neighbors on the West Coast. What started as a small but generous gesture has now resulted in over 10,000 meals.

Jeff Lichtenstein, the owner of Echo Fine Properties says a PB&J is surprisingly the perfect vehicle for the commUNITY to get behind. Its easy to make. It travels well.  Its comfort food thats comfortable. And most importantly, its 450 essential calories.

Our sandwiches are being distributed to people in all walks of life. Homeless, newly homeless, kids, essential workers, linemen, and folks who worked in the resorts who have lost their jobs and are dealing with roof tarps and mold. Lichtenstein said on his first trip over, he mustve seen 30 signs of free food”. Unfortunately, this gets attention for a few weeks and the narrative changes to something else. However, the devastation from 155 mph winds and sideways rain will take years to rebuild. So, keeping this first and foremost is critical.

Weve had all kinds of people coming together to make PB&Js – 3 year olds to 95 year olds. Mangrove Bay, an assisted living facility in Jupiter made 100 sandwiches. The Jupiter High School band challenged the Dwyer Palm Beach Gardens Football team to see who could make more sandwiches. The Club at Ibis made 2049 sandwiches in a day with hundreds of residents involved. Potions in Motion Catering shut down its operations for half a day and made 750 sandwiches. Companies and people are just getting together or even doing it at home. Everybody loves making these sandwiches to help their neighbors. It brings back good childhood memories and its an all smiles event.

So like Johnny and Joe say, Were all Winners by Sticking Together”.
